VACANCY: Business Development Executive

Walker Humphrey are looking for an enthusiastic Business Development Executive to work for our well-established family owned and managed distribution company based near Sherburn in Elmet, Leeds. You will be working as part of a team , where high quality standards are implemented throughout the business.

Helping to achieve and maintain our culture of friendly and excellent customer service, by taking personal responsibility and ownership of always delivering to the highest possible standards in all areas to all of our customers.

Main Roles & Responsibilities:

  1. Responsibility for the company’s portfolio of clients.
  2. Develop new business by means of report analysis working closely with the Sales Manager.
  3. Helping to develop and retain good customer relations and generate additional sales leads from existing customers.
  4. Responsibility for arranging monthly meetings with Sales Manager to discuss product opportunities and identify any service or quality issues, including buying trends that have changed.
  5. Handling customer complaints and queries in accordance with the company’s BRCGS guidelines and policies.
  6. Working closely with Customer Services / Telesales to assist with product information, pricing and out of stock items to ensure customers receive possible alternative options on time for their delivery day.
  7. Responsibility for selling of the company’s products and services by providing product and service information, including promotional offers and new product launches.
  8. Working closely with key suppliers to help maintain and build new business, ensuring that technical assistance and rebates are provided for appropriate customers.
  9. Producing customer quotations, ensuring agreed prices are communicated effectively and in a timely manner.
  10. Liaising closely with the Operations & Commercial Directors, ensuring sales and gross margins are regularly reviewed and kept in line with company targets, monthly actions are agreed and followed up on.
  11. Actively participating in and promoting the product safety, legality and quality culture of the business throughout all aspects of my day-to-day role.
  12. Working as part of a team in a friendly and professional manner.
